Bio

The porcelain factory in Gustavsberg, Stockholm lies abandoned on the shores of a freezing Baltic Sea bay. The plant and the adjacent neighborhood were defined as an ideal community, but things and times have changed. For local Americana singer/songwriter Daniel Hollow, his younger years in the ultramarine collared community have given way for more modern, diverse days. These days are portrayed in a somber way, dark but with a glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel. Translucent and delicate like the china.

Daniel was born into music and thus inspired by the folk and progressive music in his home. He's a multi-instrumentalist who tried an array of instruments and the instruments tried him. He was even challenged by the double bass before settling for guitar. Hollow generally performs as a solo act, sometimes supplemented by companions.

Life in a small town might be marred by monotony but that boredom can turn into creativity. Daniel directed his sense of injustice and anger into the local DIY order, later swerving into the lyric songcraft of outlaw country legends. His songwriting has transformed with time, now more oriented toward everyday issues. Like the hopeless, perpetual pendulum between freedom and tall buildings. Relationship hardship and mental unwellness are also threads of his suburban lore. Crafted like an embroidery, setting out from the core.
